Miękki the Common Snapping Turtle

Meet Miękki

Polish for “soft,” Miękki (mee – eck – kee) is a kind and beautiful snapping turtle. She came to Turtle Rescue League after 24 years of poor care after being taken from the wild as a hatchling. We love Miękki the way she is, but she will be a healthier and even happier turtle once her diet and exercise plan reduce her weight and increase her strength.

Miękki had never seen another turtle before she came to us, and she warms our hearts when she stops in her tracks and basks in the joy of meeting another snapping turtle. Just like anyone else who has met him, she is especially fond of her fellow ambassador, Fire Chief.

Miękki is peaceful, curious and enjoys walking around the sanctuary while she gets some exercise. She keeps a caring eye on our patients, and considers it her job to greet visitors at the door.

Miękki and everyone at TRL would like to thank the following turtle heroes for their ongoing support!
